Kirsten works with the Technologies Companies practice at Goodwin Procter to identify new business leads, secure key clients, define business strategies that will increase external visibility, and conducts competitive intelligence research. She is passionate about startups and how the technology solutions they are creating can influence our work and social lives.

Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Kirsten was the Marketing Coordinator at Gunderson Dettmer. Kirsten graduated from Santa Clara University, with degrees in both Physics and Studio Art. She then pursued certifications in Web Design and Internet Programming /Development. Kirsten currently serves as the president of the Peninsula Chapter of SCU’s Alumni Association and moonlights as an artist, baker, and lighting designer in the SCU theatre.

David Goldenberg is a Founding Partner and former member of the firm’s executive committee. David’s practice covers a broad range of clients, many of whom are growth-oriented technology companies. He generally counsels companies with a broad range of contractual and corporate matters. He works extensively with company founders, investors and related parties on all types of financings (over 90 financings completed), has extensive M&A experience, as well as in licensing, strategic partner, and IPO transactions.

Prior to joining VLP, David was general counsel of Mediabolic, Inc., the leading embedded entertainment software company in Silicon Valley. He oversaw all legal aspects for the company, including negotiation of over 75 separate licensing transactions with companies such as Intel, Motorola, Sony, Cisco/Linksys, Fujitsu, Phillips, HP, Broadcom and Marvell, and the eventual sale of the company to Macrovision (now Rovi). Prior to Mediabolic, David practiced law at the San Francisco headquarters of Morrison & Foerster, one of the country’s premier law firms, for nearly seven years.

David graduated from Stanford Law School in 1996 , where he was Chair (Managing Editor) of the Stanford Journal of Law, Business & Finance. Prior to that, he received his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University with honors (where he was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa). David was named a 2011 Rising Star by Northern California Super Lawyers as one of the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state for 2011.

Rob Kahn is the Chief Marketing Officer at Fenwick & West LLP, a law firm focusing on the needs of technology and life sciences companies.

As part of the firm’s administrative leadership, Mr. Kahn is responsible for developing and implementing marketing, communications, research and business development services that increase awareness of the firm and allow Fenwick attorneys to build strong practices. With particular strength in marketing technology and process improvement, during his tenure at Fenwick & West Mr. Kahn has lead initiatives that have significantly improved functions including experience management, pitch automation and customization, market research, lead generation, online marketing, enterprise relationship management and public relations.

Mr. Kahn is also actively involved in the firm’s ongoing effort to improve client service at the firm, which includes interviewing the firm’s clients to gain a better understanding of what the firm is doing well and identifying areas for improvement.

He also collaborates closely with other administrative departments to develop systems that improve the accuracy and efficiency of the firm’s marketing and business development efforts at the practice group and industry group level.

Prior to joining Fenwick & West in 2003, Mr. Kahn lead business development for a marketing agency and started his career as a commercial litigator. He is a regular author and speaker on legal marketing topics that focus on marketing technology and business development best practices.

He served as the senior managing editor at Yahoo! in the critical early days of the Web, creating and managing the company’s first team of editors and writers whose work included Yahoo! News Full Coverage, Daily & Weekly Picks, Ask Yahoo! and other editorial features. In 1999 Brill’s Content media magazine placed Adrian on their Top-25 Influence list, calling him “the most important person in cyberspace of whom you’ve never heard.” He likes to point out that the magazine folded shortly after that dubious honor.

His writings about the web have been published in the Chicago Sun Times, USA Today, and many places elsewhere – his poetry has been published in numerous national journals, in print and online. Adrian speaks frequently on the topic of law firm content marketing and new media strategy.

Jacqueline Madarang is the Marketing Technology Manager at Best Best & Krieger LLP, a national law firm that focuses on environmental, business, education, municipal, and telecommunications law for public agencies and private clients. Jacqueline manages the firm’s marketing technology platforms, including the firm’s website, social media programs, CRM, and email marketing.

Jacqueline is a member of the international Legal Marketing Association (LMA) Technology Committee, a member of the planning committee of the 2012 Legal Marketing Technology Conference/West, and a member of the LMA LA Chapter.

Stefanie Marrone is a seasoned strategic communications professional with a wide range of diverse experience in branding, public relations and marketing communications.

As Mayer Brown’s Assistant Director of Public Relations, Stefanie is responsible for overseeing internal and external communications for this global law firm.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Stefanie was Sullivan & Cromwell’s Senior Communications Manager, where she handled strategy, daily management and implementation of strategic communications initiatives designed to advance public relations, marketing communications and branding/positioning objectives for the firm.

Prior to S&C, Stefanie was the marketing communications manager at McKee Nelson (now part of Bingham McCutchen) where she managed branding, marketing communications, public relations and client events.

From 2002 to 2007, Stefanie held various marketing communications positions at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind & Garrison, including overseeing print and electronic communications pieces. She also developed the firm’s alumni relations program. For her work on Paul, Weiss’ 2007 recruiting campaign, Stefanie and her team won a first place award at the Legal Marketing Association’s Your Honor Awards.

Prior to entering the legal marketing field, Stefanie was an editor at Redbook magazine.

Stefanie received her master of science degree in strategic communications from Columbia University and holds a B.A. in history and art history from New York University. She is an active member of the Legal Marketing Association and is a member of the New York Chapter’s Programming Committee, the LMA International Technology Committee and is the new book review editor for Strategies, the LMA’s member publication.

Deborah McMurray is the leader of Content Pilot, a strategy and technology company. In March 2008, she was inducted into the Legal Marketing Association’s Hall of Fame at the annual conference in Los Angeles, and in September 2007, was elected as a Fellow in the ABA’s College of Law Practice Management.

Gregg Melinson joined HP in September 2011 as vice president, Government Relations, and deputy general counsel. Melinson is based in HP’s Palo Alto headquarters and is responsible for driving HP’s political and public policy agenda and supporting the growth of HP’s Public Sector business in more than 170 countries.

Prior to HP, Melinson was Chief Marketing Partner at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP (DBR), a 700-lawyer national law firm headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, where Melinson led all strategic client development activities and helped double firm revenue between 2005 and 2010. Melinson has had what he calls “the honor and privilege of serving HP” as outside counsel for the past 15 years on a variety of litigation and other matters, most recently providing political and lobbying guidance to the HP Government Relations U.S. Federal, State & Local teams.

A 20-year veteran at DBR, who founded and led the DBR Government Affairs practice, Melinson took time from the firm to serve as deputy general counsel to former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge from 1995 to 1997. In that capacity, Melinson represented Governor Ridge and other administration officials in federal and state court litigation, while also overseeing the work of several hundred lawyers in the Governor’s Office of General Counsel. (Ridge went on to serve as the first Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security).

Melinson has a long and distinguished record of civic and charitable engagement, and he also has written and lectured on a number of topics, including economic competitiveness, drug testing in the workplace, the Americans with Disabilities Act, election law, and advocacy in administrative rulemaking. Melinson is a frequent political commentator in the Greater Philadelphia area and appears regularly on local television and radio broadcasts to discuss the political landscape and other current topics.

Melinson holds a J.D. degree from the Duke University School of Law and graduated maxima cum laude with a B.A. from La Salle University.

Kevin has used the Internet for business development starting with his own law firm. His approach of networking through the Internet by helping people was recognized by USA Today which said “If O’Keefe isn’t careful, he may wind up giving lawyers a good name.”

Prior to LexBlog, Kevin founded Prairielaw.com, an online law community for consumers and small businesspeople. Later acquired by LexisNexis, Prairielaw.com was incorporated into Martindale-Hubbell’s current lawyers.com. Kevin then served as a VP of Business Development for LexisNexis’ Martindale-Hubbell for two years.

Linda is President of Intelligent Video Solutions, which she founded in January of 2009 to best leverage her years of business development, creative and technology experience and to assist clients in the creation and distribution of web videos. Her first company, Intelligent Marketing Solutions , founded in 1997, was a thought leader in marketing consulting and recruitment services to leading law firms in North America and Europe.

Linda has worked in the professional services industry since 1987, after graduating from The University of Chicago. In-house she worked for prestigious firms including: Davis Polk, Clifford Chance and Alliance Bernstein. Out-house she is a passionate entrepreneur and built a financial recruitment firm in 2006 which she sold, as well as a self-help product company in 2001 called Map Your Life.

Her areas of expertise include: visual communications, marketing, public relations, sales and marketing technology. Her passions include film, nature photography, travel and gifted education. She lives in Purchase, NY with her two children.
