Assistant General Counsel - Microsoft

Dennis C. Garcia is an Assistant General Counsel for Microsoft based in Chicago. He leads the legal support function to Microsoft’s U.S. Central Region Enterprise & Partner Group – a team of sales, devices and services professionals based in an 18 state region. In that role Dennis shapes and negotiates cloud computing, on premise, devices and consulting services agreements with Microsoft’s largest customers. He also advises on general corporate legal matters. Prior to joining Microsoft, Dennis served as in-house counsel for Accenture and IBM.

Alice Geene
Chief Legal Officer - Rewards Network

Alice Geene joined Rewards Network as Chief Legal Officer in April 2014. She is responsible for the company’s legal matters, as well as its internal audit and corporate information security functions.

Alice is a veteran technology company general counsel, having served as general counsel at two Chicago-based technology companies. As General Counsel & Secretary at Trustwave Holdings, Inc., a privately held cyber-security and compliance solutions company, Alice closed two acquisitions in her first year. In nearly 8 years, including a year as Group Vice President & Interim General Counsel at Orbitz Worldwide, Inc., a publicly traded online travel distribution company, Alice structured and negotiated many of Orbitz’s key commercial partnerships. Alice has also held senior legal roles in three other global technology organizations: Schrodinger, Inc.; Register.com, Inc.; and Juno Online Services, Inc.

Alice holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Harvard College and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. She is on the Board of Directors of Friends of Prentice, the principal fundraising organization for Prentice Women’s Hospital, part of Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Deborah Grabein
Director of Business Development - Andrews Kurth

Deborah has over 24 years of experience in management, professional sales and marketing in the legal industry, and throughout this experience has pioneered many marketing and business development initiatives. She previously served as the Director of Marketing for Winstead (2001-2005), and was one of the first law firm business development directors in Texas, working at Hutcheson and Grundy (1986-1993). Much of her professional experience has focused on developing tools to successfully and skillfully serve clients’ needs in the legal industry.  

At Andrews Kurth, Deborah provides strategic and tactical business development and marketing counsel to the firm and supports firm programs including women’s initiatives, diversity, and alumni and community relations. 

In addition to leading firm-wide marketing initiatives for all offices and practices, Deborah has developed internal and external communications programs and created a public relations and media program.

Deborah received her B.A. from Southern Methodist University and her Paralegal Certificate from Southwestern Paralegal Institute. She has furthered her studies at Rice University and has taken several classes in pursuit of a Masters in Theology from Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University.
